Question 02 STi UK - Strut Brace Fitted 'over' i/c

Folks,

Just bought my new scooby - an 02 Sti UK. However, even though I've not got it yet, I'm considering removing/replacing the existing front strut brace. It seems to be a SPARCO item, but the brace fits over the top of the tmic - the 'fitter' has even cut away the rubber from the bottom of the scoop to make way for it.

Why would anyone make a brace that fits into the airflow of the I/C ?

Does anyone know if this is a correct part or a common thing ?

Cheers,

Mark

Ive seen ones go round the front of the intercooler and round the back as normal.. but never over the top.

Perhaps it's for a sport!

Aye - maybe - I didn't think of that ....

It'll be coming off anyhow and the rubber skirt replaced / repaired.....
