coilovers and ride height
I'm looking for coilovers optimised for an intermediate ride height (not low) but...
-Pss9 - minimum drop -40mm (too much for me)
-kw3 - minimum drop -40mm (too much for me)
-Ast ??...probably -20mm no official informations or data sheet
-ohlins road and track....no informations about
-Jap coilovers...too harsh...so excluded
-H&R coilovers??
then??

Only in that range the coilovers work well

Floyd is right.
You can set coilovers where you want, from stock to 'Rally' to 'Show car' ride height.
I feel a 20mm drop is about right for several reasons.
Also, there are good things to do to the chassis before coil-overs are needed.

Got Powerstation to fit my Eibach coilovers to my 2004 WRX and they set the ride height on what they think would suit my car and my driving. Car has a more aggresive stance, I think they lowered it 30mm at the front and 25mm at the back.
I really do rate my Eibach coilovers, I was worried after reading loads of threads on here about hard coilovers, but when they where fitted I was really impressed, the ride was firmer without being to hard.
Heres some pictures to get a idea on how much it has lowered my car:
