Get the alignment set true by someone GOOD.
PowerStation, Roger Clark etc.
Normally tyres wear well on an Impreza.

Another thought, are your wheels the right off-set?

Strange you should say this, i have noticed the same is started to happen on my car, UK Turbo My00 with 17`s WRX newage rims, need to have a word with curtis at powerstation to see what he has to say about the subject, may have to revise my wheel alignment settings..

No car seems planted, but when i had T25 suspension package done the alignment was set up for a track/hillclimb bias, so i`am waiting for a responce from curtis at powerstation, oh by the way thanks for the offer on how best to clean/polish the car, when this rain stops will be round to see you..

My 98 sport on 16" 6-spokes wears badly on teh out edges of the fonrt wheels, carstins subaru checked the tracking and its spot on as is the tyre pressure, all they could recommend was a 4-wheel laser alignment at silverline in warwick, thing is its £80 and if they find it to be set up spot on i'm still left with wear problems and i'm £80 lighter....hmmm

Think i'm going to get the new suspension fitted, new tyres all round and then closely monitor the wear, if after a few thousand miles its looking the same i'll take it in

Curtis from powerstation called today, the outcome being as follows..

1. Due to the improvement in handling, the car is now capable of carrying more speed through/round corners/roundabouts thus putting more pressure on the front tyres..

Reccomandations as listed below..

1. Change the aspect ratio from 45 to 40 and go for a known tyre with a stiffer side wall..

2. Take a look at your camber settings, with a view towards revising them..

3. Lift your right foot..

IMO, you should invest your money in a laser 4 wheel alignment, that way you will have all the data on your print out, then decided which way you want to go..

Myself i will be going up to powerstation next week looking for a GPN Tarmac Spec setup..

Take a look in the Tech Center thread, Tyres: The black art.......... for a better understanding of what goes on..

John

Thanks again to curtis for taking the time to call back..
