Default Have my Shock Absorbers gone?

Just had my service which made the car feel brand new.... superb in fact.... had 4 new tyres and really happy.

96 STi Impreza.

Just noticed something strage a few days after service etc... when turning hard and breaking I can hear what can only be described as my tyres rubbing heavy against something. Would it be that my shocks have gone causing the car to lean heavily thus rubbing bodywork on tyres during the turning manouever?

Wasn't happening before service/new tyres

Oooh, hadn't thought of that but I did check briefly to make sure they did fit proxes which they did and the numbers looks the same. I will check again. If they are correct, and to be honest the clearance looks fine; I have 17's, then will it be the shocks?

Edit: The profile of the tyres are exactly the same as I had before... 215/40zr17

doesnt sound like shocks. Shocks dont hold the car up, springs do.

I'm with stu, I think its rubbing

btw, I run 215/45 17s stock but mines an 04. If anything yours got a thinner sidewall and less circumference, shouldnt br rubbing. Probably want to take it back to the shop make sure alls okay.

Yes, I have got mudflaps but had those prior to the tyres being replaced... therefore, nothing has changed since the replacement.

Sooo, it could be the springs then?

It only happens when I break and bank hard right... I'll take her back then

You were right! Even though they are the same tyres the profile is slightly different which rubs on the mudflaps! Panic over
