Just had Coilovers fitted to my WRX!
Just thought I would do a little write up, for future reference for anyone who might be looking for information on coilovers when using the search function.
I’ve recently done a lot of searching on Coilovers, and the pro’s and con’s that come with them, as I was not happy with the standard suspension on my 2004 WRX, the car felt wobbly at high speeds, and I really wanted something that could stiffen up the suspension, not to mention it looked to high on 18"inch wheels.
Most things that I read up on was due to the springs being to hard for UK roads, and I didnt really want my everyday car to be that hard that I would have a bad back everytime I drove it, So picking the right coilovers was crucial.
So I decided to keep an eye out for a second hand set of Coilovers which where for sale on ScoobyNet, I saw that Revolution had stripped there demo car and had a set of Eibach adjustable coilovers for sale at £299.
So yesterday I went to Powerstation to have the coilovers fitted along with a full geometry set-up and alloy drop links for a price of £350 inc VAT.
Curtis and Fuzz did a top job but what else do you expect from them, and I defiantly notice a big difference over the standard suspension, The car felt much more stable and you could feel you have more control through the steering wheel, The ride felt stiffer, but in my opinion for the better, Like I said before I thought the WRX felt to wobbly, and the coilovers have certainly made it better.
So today I thought I would really test it, I took the car to a big island and went into it at some speed even in the wet, and the car just gripped and didn’t feel it was going to let go at all, and NO UNDERSTEER.

The best roundabouts for me, are the Black Country route just of Junction 10 of the M6, Usually on a Sunday you see lots of bikers up there with there knee down taking these roundabouts, and a few nice straights that you can get upto speed.

I travel those islands EVERY day to work and back, they are awsome (on a clear day)
Powerstation do have a certain way with the Impreza.
I'll be there for Round 2 in 2 weeks time.
Graham.
