what next and what settings?
I've just changed from a classic to an MY03 WRX and although the chassis feels much stiffer the understeer is absolutely hurrendous.
I can't go too mad with the suspention as I have a wife and two little'uns to cart around so coilovers are not really an option but something must be done before next years track day season
I was hoping springs and an alignment would sort it out so today I fitted some Tien springs. I haven't yet had it aligned but was expecting at least a little improvement but understeer is just the same.
So anyway I'm now thinking should I be adding ARB's and strut braces before getting it all aligned or shall I see how the alighnment goes first?
Also, while on the subject of alignments... Has anyone got any good settings that work well?
Oh, one more thing... there were no cam bolts on the rear... should they be?

IMHO:
I think you are going about this wrong to kill every Scooby nuts hate; Understeer.
Bearing in mind you want comfort etc but some track day fun:
Have Whiteline rear antiroll bar fitted (22mm) and set to middle of the 3 holes available for a start.
Have Noltek front top mounts fitted to the stock struts
Eibach replacement /slightly lowered springs
Good alignment by someone who knows what they are doing (Curtis at Powerstation) but not a dealer or any old garage.
A set of camber bolts in the rear (cheap mod) is a good idea to help the technician balance the settings on the car.
The chassis will be really good, and the cost about £500 but the car will be so much better on the road without comfort loss.
Graham.

Many thanks, I've ordered the 22mm whiteline ARB today but think I'll leave the top mount adjusters for the mo see what I get at max level of standard adjustment.
Powerstations miles from me but the company I use specialise in alignment and have loads of experiance with race/rally cars so should be ok. I know he has specific settings and generally asks me what I want for instance... Fast road, road/race, Prodrive standard, Prodrive track etc etc but I was hoping to be able to tell him exactly what settings I want to aim for.
I should say though I'm in no way dissapointed with the Tiens. ride height is absolutely perfect, much lower than Eibachs and can still hit all the speed bumps round here at 30mph without taking out the front splitter. Bodyroll is virtually non-existent and it no longer nose dives on braking or lifts on acceleration. Best of all its not much harder either and the wife hasn't even noticed the difference
