From: West Sussex-Scoob stripped :( Hello Audi A6 4.2V8 Quattro :)
Question Whiteline adjustable tie bars (rear) ?????

As above really, I was looking at the Whiteline products and noticed I can get the rear tie bar arms (I think thats what they're called) for my 95 classic.

When getting my wheels laser aligned I can adjust the fronts to negative camber usually -1, however the backs cannot be adjusted.

These come in a pair to adjust the toe in, toe out, only...............Or you can get all four arms to adjust toeing and camber.

I think Demon Tweeks sell them for the whole kit for about £200

Does anyone know if I could find these products anywhere else????

Kev

I have had the twin lower rear arms on my road/hill climb Sti V3 for 22 years now.
You can get great negative on them, all the toe in/out you need and even widen the track a bit too!
Cheap and easy to fit, and very effective.

About +/- 25mm! (no kidding)

If your frame is THAT squashed, get a new one!

Thanks for the advice Graham. Incidentally, I didn't know that v3's were that old

Just be careful about widening the track, you can hit the limit of the driveshafts and start to have problems with the joints.

I had the Noltec versions of these fitted to my wagon which allowed for exact setting up of the rear geometry and as Graham says they make for major adjustment should you require it. Any adjustments made must be followed with accurate measurement as these really can have quite a drastic effect on your vehicles handling. They're off now whilst I'm carrying out some work on the car but they're going back on once complete.

Dave, you are dead right.
I got the track about 10mm wider due to the negative I am running and the car not being too low (about 15/20mm max lower than stock).
You can see the difference, but there is still about 8 mm of float in the shafts and i've run at this setting for about 2.5 years now without a problem.

As with all these mods, it is how it all works together as a package that is key, and that includes the alignment technician too.

Graham.
