Have got a rear Strut brace for a Classic but it won't fit!! the Strut tops will not go through the body!! Is this the right brace?

they can be a bitch to go in.. takes a bit of twisting and turning to different angles to get em in.
have you also tried the other bracket on the same side of the car.
I've seen some cars that have been cut to get the things in but as of yet have not had to cut any body work on the ones I have done.

I was looking at fitting mine this morning, (looks the same as yours) and I came to the conclusion you'd need to take the rear parcel shelf out in order to do up the bolt furthest away from you.
So I shelved it for the time being and spent some time pondering how I'm going to get my car to somewhere where they can put my driveshaft back in (see other thread) and fit my rear Eibachs (and rear brace).

You have to fit the ends to the car and then fit the centre bar to them.
I take it you took the back seat out first
Yes you need to lift the parcel shelf but you shouldn't need to remove it totally. Just prop it up so you have a little more room
