Default Way too much understeer - Classic UK

I came across a standard WRX (bugeye) 5 door the other on the lanes in the wet.

Basically he just drove away from me, whilst I battled with massive understeer. (MY99 UK Turbo, with 16" wheels)

I couldnt get any front end grip whatsoever, tyres are continental conti's all round, with good tread depth.

I am sure I read somewhere about adjusting the camber/toe in/toe out away from the standard settings to cut down on the lack of bite.

Can anyone confirm this and if so, what are the ideal settings ?

Many thanks

You wont get rid of understeer by settings alone.
IMHO call PowerStation and chat to Fuzz (Andy) and you can chase the Bugeye good and propa then!

A good starting point is bumpsteer mod, full geometry setup, 22mm rear arb and solid droplinks. This will transform the handling and virtually eliminate understeer. All can be done by powerstation.

Then you can change the springs for eibach pro or go for coilovers with variable settings.

A well setup car will out perform a car with an extra 100bhp on the twisties
