will spec c type ra my05 struts go on to a my05 sti?


my sti has black struts

the spec c's are red

thing is.the car is with subaru dealership and they seem to think the struts wont fit.
they havent a clue what a spec c,lolz. and i was told befor i bought the struts they would go on with no probloms atall.

they dotn fit mate,the brackets are bigger on a my05

He says from Spec C type RA to standard STI MY05 mate, why not when they both have same 114,5-5x100 wheels, same hubs etc?
The only difference IMO is the colour but double check it!

they must be off a 04 sti spec c then.

Rizzy Powerstation have MY05 Spec C & normal MY05 JDM struts and springs in stock. I think they are £75 a corner

If you check the part numbers, you may find that they are the same and even if they aren't the same part number, the damper rates will probably be the same.

I believe for a WRX the Spec C suspension mates better than the STI cause it has about the same weight distribution F to R with the WRX.
I have in my WRX MY03 Spec C shocks with Prodrive springs and work perfectly.
I have also fitted some grease nipples in the rears at the point where the suspension has double layer metal in order to regreaase them from time to time and avoid the usual knocking/clunking noise all STI users experience.
It works fine until now with any problem, will see in the future...
