Prodrive rear shock help ?!
Can anybody with a classic with the prodrive/bilstein suspension tell me the part numbers that are stamped into the rear shocks as i have this supension fitted to mine and one shock has been replaced previously before i owned the car but there seems to be a difference in height/length of the struts although the spring plates are the same position ?? N/S/R strut is longer than the o/s/r so when car is raised on a ramp the n/s/r wheel hangs lower ??
Is this normal ? I know that they are sided but are ther different varients of the shocks ??
Thanks for any help .

There are two variations of the Prodrive Bilstein-Eibach suspension kit for the Classic. The original, called the Performance kit, was developed circa 1997. This is the kit I have and the part no. for the rear dampers is 20000550030. (The fronts are 2000055020).
The other kit, which is much stiffer, is called the Professional and was developed a couple of years later.
You may be able to determine which you have by the colour of the springs. The Performance springs are blue and (I believe) the Professional springs are grey. Whichever kit you have, there should be no difference in the length of the rear struts, unless one's from the Performance kit and the other's from the Professional (maybe). If this is the case it would provide some interesting handling characteristics!
Hope this helps.

It sounds like you might have the "Professional" kit. You might want to contact Prodrive directly. Mike Wood is the man to talk to.
