Default How easy/difficult to change front shocks?

Hi guys,

I need to change the front shocks on MY98, the o/s shock has had it!

Just wondering what the difficulty rating is? Will I need a spring compressor etc etc.

Any hints?

Regards

John

Its not that bad a job, three bolts at the top (strut top) and two at the bottom (onto hub), remember to seperate the brake line from the strut body.

I just used spring clamps (from Halfords of all places). Undo the top nut on the strut to release the top mount and take out the spring.

One thing to remember is that you will need the geometry done on the front afterwards.

Dave.

you can get away without a spring compressor if you have lowerd springs (-30mm plus), otherwise i dont recomend you try it
