Lowering an Sti 8 ???
Hi,
Is there any spring Kit that will lower the above, with 18's, leaving no gaps...i.e. lower it a decent bit, wheels tucked in to arches ?
or do you have to buy an entire Springs/Adjustable Shock Kit ???
thanks
Phil.
P.s. if anyone has a pic of sti 8, lowered on 18's fairly low ???

See what Eibach, Power Engineering, TSL, Powerstation etc have to offer including advice. Don't forget, you must have the geometry checked/re-set after disturbing the suspension - especially the front as the camber adjustment bolt has to be removed.

Ok sorry, you're right.
Was just trying to indicate that as posted previosuly Prodrive sell a spring kit that is intended to produce the best handling car for road use by using stiffer springs which also lower the car an inch or so.
If you want to lower the car significantly further than this then I suggest you are doing it for the sake of looks rather than because it handles better that low. There are some t*ss*rs who cruise round and round our town centre every Sunday and some of these are so low they can't use more than a fraction of the steering lock. They creep over potholes and speed bumps so they are clearly right down on the bump stops and in areas of suspension travel where the geometry is probably totally screwed up. Not big or clever.
If you want a car like this that looks "nice" rather than one that handles and corners well then I seriously think that you will get better and more sympathetic advice as to how to do it from the Max Power type mags rather than posting on this board. But on the other hand if you want the best handling car then here's the place for advice and some was already given, fit the Prodrive spring kit.

Eibach make springs.
Prodrive spring kits always used to be made by Eibach (but not necessarily always the case), so in that case they'd have been made to a spring rate and length chosen by Prodrive. So when you say Eibach you need to be sure whether you're talking about springs made by Eibach or a kit made by Eibach with a spring rate and length chosen by Eibach.
Prodrive spring kits also come with an uprated bumpstop, shorter but stiffer. This means when you lower the car you are not sitting on the standard bumpstop but you still have some bump stop left before bottoming out. As far as I am aware other spring kits do not. Not sure how important this is but if Prodrive bother to specify it and go to the hassle of getting dealers to strip the upside strut apart to fit it then they must feel it has benefit.
