Default Competition geometry setup

OK all your Subaru sprint and hill climbers

Racing on Saturday and interested in what works well for people using Avon slicks (thanks CarMan).

My first bash will be....
2 degrees ve- camber front and back with .5-1 degree toe in

Any advance ?

Come on 911 what settings are you running at present ?

What car is it Mark? Ideal settings would vary according to the stiffness of the suspension/ride height/arb's you're running.

Don't know much about Avons, but initial thought, assuming you're talking about a car with standard (whether STi or regular) struts and anti-roll bars, would be to go for a bit more negative camber on both front and rear axles if there's enough adjustment in the holes.

Ultimately though, it doesn't really matter what works on 911, or anyone else's car. You should do some testing, either before the event, or, if push comes to shove, during it.

Mark, I think Greasemonkey is right.
Carman had his RA set-up by Powerstation and it drove really well on a sprint track (on S02's).
I run quite radical setting exactly as the Whiteline project car, about 3 deg neg in the front and 4 deg caster etc. Go to www.whiteline.com.au
For Avon slicks (cross ply) I would start at no more than 2 deg neg all round. The tyres are very stiff.
They need a bit of warming up, and Rob had to have the rear arch lip rolled to clear them on his RA.
It is so much down to taste, I've spent ages get a good compromise with mine, but had much more stuff on my Sti than Rob ever did. The RA's sold now.
I'm at Shelsley Walsh this weekend with a real battle on my hands, and the head gaskets have just failed.....
Anyway, looking forwards to Le Mans!
Good luck, let us know how you fare, give em death!

Greasemonkey, do you need to take the engine out just to remove the heads?

Ok fair point about the spec, so is as follows

94 WRX with @340 bhp, and lightened
Bilstein PS9 coilovers with front HKS camber plates
Camber bolts front and rear
Whiteline ARB front & rear, powerflex drop links
Cusco lower front & rear strut braces
STi upper front strut brace
Rear roll cage
Rob's Avons (not sure if cross ply) will check Friday
Big Godspeed brakes

Driven by one novice (me) and one quick Police pursuit driver.

Mark, the slicks are crossply, and were on a 7 1/2 inch rim (gold BBS's)
Sounds like you can dial in almost anything possibly except for the caster. Lots of caster will help kill off understeer.
Where are you racing?
Also, where did you get the rear lower brace from, how much weight did you save stripping it out?

I have several other tweeks over and above your spec, not too sure about just how good they are, as i'm a cr*p driver, ask Rob!

Racing at Lydden Hill circuit.
Not much to beat in my class, a TVR & Reliant (not a robin unfortunately)
Lower brace from Cusco off SN but seen them as cheap new in the US, made of alloy so its light.
Lightening involves, carbon fibre bonnet, boot and spoiler(not all on the car yet) and all non essential equipment removed i.e rear seats, mats, spare wheel and tow hook.
Not sure total weight taken off, weighed myself today so that adds a few pounds.

Rob told me that fueling might be a problem, that's why he had a swirl pot, whats your view.

I was going to fit the Gruppe-S headers, worried about the map in the Link and having looked at the flanges they are warped as f**k, my medical engineering dept have "flattened" them. (part of the first GB)

Rob had the pot and high pressure pump to run on 1/4 tank or less, and to max the 440cc injectors with the Gems ecu. Saves a good number of Kg's = more bacon butties at the start of the day, a Hill climb must.
The v2 Groppe s headers are much more solid it is reported, so these are the favourit.
If you have machined the flanges to true them they will be weaker still?

I would have a set now but for the bloody head gasket thing/cost.

Good luck at the sprint. the TVR's arn't that fast. I've got a 480 bhp Evo5, a 360+ Nissan Gti, a Lancia EVO intgrale, bloody hell!

Anyway, to hell with the engine, if it goes pop, here comes a 2.2 and all that, and a Dog Box, and aFMIC, and a GEMS, and a .......bank robbery.
