Just fitted P1 suspension to my STi Type RA. Fan-bloody-tastic!

HGi All.
I've said for a while that the Sti Type RA is too hard for UK roads. I managed to find a complete set of P1 shox/springs last week and just had it fitted and the geometry set.
What a difference! More compliant for our cr@ppy roads, more "planted", good turn in and somehow seems to "soften" the harsh rear diff of these cars, now it doesn't oversteer so badly when you power thru a corner as it did before - just hooks up and goes, with excellent control and grip. Also, ride quality is fantastic, way less crashy.
Absolutely brilliant! This is how they should have built these things in the first place!
All in all, well happy, and the whole job came in under £600 including fit/geometry set.
Thanks to Phil at Barretts Motorsport, canterbury for a quick and efficient job. It was his advice that encouraged me to experiment, and i'm glad i did. Cheers mate!

ps wish this nice weather would sod off! I want to try it in the wet!

Good to see you got it fitted, look forward to sitting behind you at the Kent meet in two weeks to see the difference!!
I've spoken to Phil since the last meet and he's definitely a good contact and I'm likely to get him to sort mine out in the next month or so

I'm running 18" Radius R1's (pretty heavy in all honesty) with 215's. Unsprung weight is a bit higher than a standard P1 i would imagine.
I found the suspension on good 'ole Scoobynet, it was a guy locally who'd kept the stock P1 set up for one track day,500 miles, ripped it off and replaced it with Leda, bless him!
Willo, NOTHING will make me stay with the SE Loony Screwball team when it comes to hooleying down those lanes (except someone above me in a helo telling me if theres anything round the next corner!)
Seriously tho, it's well worth it, i'll give you a ride at the next meet and you'll see what i mean!

Russ, Game on (Who knows I might even make my mind up and get mine done by then - DMS/Leda, I'll flip a coin soon!!)
If you think they are mad you should try 205's and 2 pot brakes and then try keeping up!!!!
