hi J helpful as always
you know what i mean. like if i am going to upgrade my suspension on the car MY994 DOOR, what spring rate should i go for front and rear kind of thing. 300F/200R KG OR 350F/200R. ?? or is this absolute rubbish. the car weighs around 1200kg so do you have to dampen all the weight ? is the weight distribution of the car 50/50 ? 60/40 ?

any one in here knows any thing about this ?

Sam

Leda kits are 300F/225R for customers who do *some* track days. 275F/225R would be a better fast road set up and is the rates used for tarmac by many Gp N teams. 400F/275R would be a better track biased set up (such as R19KET has) but compromises the car on badly surfaced roads.

My RA has 700F/350R in track set up.

Can't remember standard rates, but they are much lower. Something like 180F/120R, with the car at rest, but they are progressive so get stiffer with more load. The standard car has high damping rates. This makes it good through a short corner, but scraping the door handles on a long high speed sweeper and has it struggling with load transfer through an S bend... relatively speaking of course.

thanks pete for your help. it all makes sense now. my car never really liked big sweeping high speed corners, thiings improved a lot when i fitted the eibach springs although the car did not go any lower.

if the suspension is adjustable can you adjuste the rate by adjusting the struts ? like in the LEDA. if lets say get a fully adjustable suspension will that provide me with the best of both worlds or is it still a compromise ?

cheers

sam
