Bilstein Inserts
I've replaced struts on many occasions but have never removed inserts from the struts
Is it fairly easy to remove the inserts from the Bilstein struts on my GTB and do I need any special tools to remove and replace the inserts? I have all the tools to remove the struts and springs

Hi,
Just had Koni damper inserts put into my struts. Is this what you mea by Biltein inserts (i.e. the dampers)?
In my case they were installed for me. The old ones had to be cut/drilled out. Don't think they used any special tools BUT I wasn't watching too closely.

Ermm.... I have, a long, LONG time ago...
The only "Special" tool you need is a spring compressor. Erm...You should also fill the suspension leg with a "Anti-Freeze" solution. It apparently helps with the cooling of the oil in the insert.
I wouldn`t recommend it unless you are very confident.
