What is the effect of a front strut-brace?

It's supposed to stiffen the body of the car. Just how effective they are on Imprezas is questionable. As the Impreza strut braces are not straight, and as the chassis is good, you'd probably be no better off fitting one in terms of handling.

However, I have one on my MY96 WRX (it came with it), and it certainly looks good...

Also a carbon Strut Brace from STi new will probably set you back about £1000 in the UK!!

So probably not worth it. MRT do an alloy one.

graham goode do a nice polished alloy one for around £260 gbp

Or if you're sensible you can get the new Sparco alloy one for £55!!!!
