Sport suspension upgrade
#1
I have a 98 Impreza Sport and the suspension seems very soft. There is a lot of lean going around corners and during hard braking. Would it be worth fitting the Turbo springs which I believe are firmer? Other threads seem to suggest that new dampers are the only way to improve handling - which is obviously the real point of the exercise. Any rough estimates on cost for new springs and / or dampers?

I would say it will improve it no end. You may be better finding someone that has Leda or Prodrive suspension fitted to a 99MY car, and buying their old setup, much cheaper than original, and will probably have very little miles or use on it.

Jamie,
I seem to recall a message by JohnS recently saying that that AF Noble & Son Subaru dealers had some MY98/99 spring/dampers sets for sale ('cos of folks going for Prodrive upgrades). I think they are asking for something in the region of £100 for a full set (could be wrong).
Best call Colin Noble on 01968 672003 for more info.
