Ive not long had eibachs fitted (by a garage BTW)
Anyway, for some reason my front left knocks/thumps (sounds like the spring is being compressed then violently released) whenever i go over a bump and/or on a full left lock. no other problems, every other corner is fine.
ive asked some mechanics and they reakon its the springs settling in or something. however, im not convinced; as it seems to be getting progressively worse.
Im gonna jack it up and have a look tomorrow & possibly remove the strut to have a play. any idea what i should be looking for or how to rectify this ?
I would go to powerstation but i havn't the time at the moment and i want it sorted before bedford.
BTW i think the nut on the top strut is definetly tight.

Happened to me after having Eibachs fitted
My guess is that they havent lined up the topcaps properly
try jacking that side of the car up (with the standard scissor jack) and watch/listen to what happens as the car lifts up
On mine the wheel stayed firmly on the ground even with the jack on full height
edited to add, I had a longish thread about it a few months ago

As said, check the top springcups. There are 3holes, feel the top of the cup and make sure the middle hole is facing out toward you. If the cup is turned too far out there is the risk (depending on model) of the spring contacting the inner wing. It can be corrected in situ but is best done off the car to ensure the rubber spring seat is properly located.
Springs "settling in" is b*****ks! If it's assembled correctly there will be no noise.
This is down to your garage. Don't forget to get the camber checked. If they didn't note the position of the camber adjustment bolts (top one of the two large hub attachment bolts) the camber is likely to be out.
