Wagon rear strut base - fitting advice

Got a Whiteline ally rear strut brace, and looking for any info on fiting it.
It's easy enough, but looks like I have to cut away the plastic boot trim - no problem, but looks like it fits just where the roller blind boot cover mounts!
Any other ideas / options?
Any one else fitted one ?
