I have an ongoing problem with my P1 and a knocking NSR shocker.

Story is as follows, right rear shocker was knocking very badly found to be leaking so had this changed under warranty. Had the left rear done at the same time but had to pay for this one as there was nothing wrong with it but I wanted it doing so I had two new rears.

After about 2 months the rear left started knocking and would feel "loose" when going over bad road bumps. Mechanic could find nothing wrong but did notice the knocking so was changed under warranty and put down to faulty shocker off the shelf. Guess what, the replacement is now starting to knock after only two weeks. Surely it can't be another "faulty" shocker, what else could be going wrong?

I wonder if I am the first with a P1 knocking like the Type UK STI(7)s are experiencing?

Far from the first I can assure you.

I had two NSR dampers replaced under warranty on my P1, and I've heard of one or two people having all four done.

I can't believe that you'd get two faulty shocks 'oof the shelf' though. Sounds more like an underlying issue that the dealer hasn't spotted.

Cheers Josh, it's reasuring to know that I am not alone with this problem.

The dealer has had the car four times, I think I will now be getting it looked over by an independent specialist.

Had the same with my P1 - it felt like I was continually running over small objects!!

Had the shocks and struts replaced under warranty by Dealer and no probs after that

Dealer also said to me that it was pretty common on P1's - they had done 4 that month!
