Has anyone had the ALK fitted to an MY03 WRX ? If you have can you describe the benefits / effects.

I'm thinking of having the ALK fitted at the same time as the Prodrive springs (when they are available) with full geometry set up. Then when funds allow an adjustable rear ARB and solid drop links.

Is this the way to go ?

Comments please -

Thanks

Sorry mate, can't give you an exact opinion on what it would do to an MY03 --> but I have an MY02 and the natural handling characteristics are very similar, so I would expect you to see similar results.....

I did it in stages (handling-wise):

1.) Eibach spring set,new Goodyear GSD3 F1s, 4 wheel laser alignment
2.) Solid Rear Droplinks & GrpN brakes
3.) Front Strut brace
4.) Whiteline ALK and 24mm Rear Antiroll bar (stiffest setting), plus another 4 wheel laser realignment

All the mods have been a big improvement on the previous setup - however I have been most impressed with the ALK - it really allows the car to surge strongly out of corners it would previously have been tempted to oversteer on. Also it has firmed up the steering and provided much more feedback overall.

The rear antiroll bar I also heartily recommend. Many would say that 24mm on the hardest setting is overkill but I have yet to have a scary rear-end moment on the limit so it works for me

Understeer is almost totally gone - it'll only happen a little in the wet and because my fronts are getting worn.....

hope this helps a little in your decision
