STI dampers - where from?
#1
Mark,
Can't really afford that much this month. I think what I'll do is put standard STI dampers on and see how it goes. My brother says he should be able to re-build the old dampers so I could keep them as a spare set.
It does appear at the moment that my car is going backwards in the mods department

For a 22b jap spec.
Just wondering where to get some prices for STI dampers, GGR are charging £175 a corner. Is this the going rate?
One of my rears is scored on the tube and is making a creaking noise so it may be time for a change.
Or does anyone have a full set lying around your not using?

Or coilovers ? Although approx £800 a set upwards!
If you just need 1 strut then best / cheapest to use genuine STi parts, assuming the other side is still ok?
Do 'em in pairs I think.
Yes, GGR price for std. STi struts is about usual, I found. Try ringing round the other scooby specialists for their offerings.

The Prodrive kit is £1400 from a dealer so thats out (I checked Mark and its only the springs that are £400!).
My car already has an interesting setup, it was imported from Japan with Cusco coilovers (inc pillowball mounts) on the front but standard on the back. I like the way it handles at the moment but it is a bit hard on the front.
Looks like I'll be speaking to GGR about a couple of new dampers for the rear. Then look at changing the fronts back to standard later.
