I have a question for someone who knows how the impreza rear suspension works, so here goes: -
Regarding the rear drop links that join the anti roll bar to the lower arm, the original subaru items are made from plastic. To reduce flex in said link I can either buy the whiteline type of drop link (round bar wrapped round polyurethane bushes) or the cast alloy type that looks the same as the original plastic link.
Here is the question: - why are the links C shaped because to reduce distortion & flex would it not be better to have a straight link for example a rectangular alloy bar with a bush fitted in each end?
Sorry about the war & peace post but your help / clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike.

I'm sure they are that C shape to clear other parts of the suspension. If they could make them straight i'm sure they would have.

Cheers for the reply, I've not been under the back of the car for a while so you may be right. question was asked because I'm stuck at work on nights (so mind is wandering to cheap & easy mods for the car).
