Cool

Has anybody replaced the rear suspension bushes on a MY99 STI Type-R (or similar). My car has done 24,500 miles and has developed a rattle/knock/clunk on the rear drivers side suspension area. The knock is worse in reverse, just like a thread I found in the "Search" section. Can the job be done at home by myself or is it a garage job? Also can anybody recommend a supplier of suspension bushes (don't know which ones yet).

Cheers,

Craig.

craig, have you checked the exhaust?

you really need to find the exact problem first. if its more noticable when you slow down or reverse it could be the spring rattling when the the rear lifts slightly or it could be the diff mount bushes. if it rattles all the time it may be a suspension bush (but i doubt it). jack the car up safely and wiggle everthing including the arb bushes.

edited to add, try here for the relacement bushes. click the technical drawing link for an image of the position of the bushes.
