Depends on what type of ride you're looking for. Don't bother trying to put Impreza shocks and springs on cos the Legacy is way too heavy (I had this on a car before and it couldn't get over any speed bumps) but using Impreza shocks with Legacy springs is OK. I tried Spax springs with Impreza shocks and for London it was very good. Car had that lowered look and the ride was supple but firmer that the boat-like tendency of the standard set up. Cost effective too.

I agree with the legacy being too heavy mines has impreza struts on fitted by previous owner far too low have to pick your routes to avoid big speedbumps !
good on corners though and very little bodyroll

I've got Impreza Turbo springs and shocks on my MY92 Legacy 4WD saloon. Ride height is OK, but combination is a bit stiff. Have removed the complete interior and other bits and pieces from the car, so weight is down to Impreza levels or even lower. Needless to say, this is a car for trackdays (Nürburgring).

Roadholding is astonishing with STi bushings and Prodrive settings for wheel alignment.
