My car (MY01) has a leaking rear shock absorber, should Subaru replace just the faulty one or both rears at the same time ?

They have said just the faulty one will get changed but how come when your car isnt under warranty they tell you that you have to replace both at the same time.

No mate near side rear, i only noticed when i took the wheels off to clean them and noticed the fluid on the lower part of the strut.

They are having a look this week and need the car for a couple of hours, god knows why, you can see the fluid on it by looking under the arch.

My Wagon MY02 has the same problem but on the off side rear, hence my question as it transpires that there are none available in the UK which leads me to believe there is a faulty batch.

IM are quoting 3 to 5 weeks for a replacement which I can't really wait for as the handling is atrocious but I'm hoping that I've sourced some after market dampers that will fit. I've been told that they are manufactured by a company that makes the OEM Subaru ones, so they should be identical apart from the price which is about 50% less than the Subaru ones.

Wink

Let me know how you get on because i'm not waiting 3-5 weeks for a replacement, he can take one off a demo car if he has to, or order one from where you are getting yours.
