MY03 wrx v's MY98 UK dampers

would there be any noticable difference in changing MY98 UK dampers for MY93 wrx ones
obviously the MY93 ones will be 5 years older - but do the import ones give a firmer/stiffer ride than UK ones
would MY93 wrx dampers + eibachs be a good upgrade from UK MY98 std dampers and springs
