Right, I am about to take the front wheels off and "TRY" and adjust the camber to as near as knackers.

I have searched a few older threads and there are some that say adjustment is done through the shock and it pivots on the top mount, and others say the 2 bolts at the bottom of the shock, the top one is a funny shape which adjusts the hub angle.

Maybe it is different on MY's

Thanks
Scott

the top bolt of the two bolts that attacth the hub to the susp. leg is "eccentric", therefore as you turn it to different positions it adjusts the camber..........
how are you going to measure this when you've finished, and also do you realise that as you adjust the camber you are also altering the tracking slightly............
if you don't have any facilities to check these, then personally i would leave it.......
we are based, just south of newcastle if you need it checked!!

thanks for the reply.

I have had my car laser aligned at two different companies and they have both said it is done.

But my passenger wheel sticks out a fair bit at the top compared to the drivers side. Also get the car wandering to the left.

I do have the ability to adjust the tracking or my dad does.
My passenger tyre is bald on the outside and just wanted to make it better, before it goes completely bald.

I have just noticed that the suspension strut has a vertical line on it above the top bolt and the bolt has several lines on it.
Both sides are completely different adjustments and just wanted to know what shall I set both to or shall I get out the tape measure etc and go by the drivers side.

Thanks
Scott

to set the camber accurately you really need some form of gauge or camber plate.......unless you do a lot of competition or track work then we normally set front camber to 1deg.
depending on the particular car it may well not line up on both strurs the same................
a lot of general garages don't have the facility to adjust/ check camber so worth asking them the question before you book it in!!

Thanks again

I have adjusted it just by using a tape measure at the moment and went by the drivers side. I know it is not accurate but this will do in the meantime to stop my tyre wearing anymore before I can get a garage to check it.

Thanks

I had the same problem as you, took it to a local tyre place who advertised as four wheel laser alignment.

Sorted most of the alignment out for the settings stored on the computer, but then said that they were unable to adjust the front camber enougth. They gave me the print out which I then took to Power Sation who said that the printout was not accurate, and found that all settings were out. So not all four wheel alignment is the same, and obviously, the operator needs to know how to use it.
