Dont know if your interested or care but I've just spoken to D.tweeks.

Whiteline lowering springs to fit a Legacy T Estate.

They list them as 25-40mm lowering springs in their "Control" range.

Part numbers are: 74502 (fronts) & 70369 (rears) to suit 91-93 Liberty RS sedan and wagon. (The non European name for the Legacy T with a bit more spice thrown in.)

Priced @ £137.02 (for the set of 4) + 7.62 carriage. 6 weeks del if you can wait.

I'm thinking of fitting them when I get round to fitting my
my97 struts sat in the garage gathering spiders and dust

Anyone used these springs yet and what they like?

May be an option for the lads with Legacy's that have others things on their minds other than noisey tappets and the cost of the rectification work

Question

dfullerton, thanks for the reply.

Do you have a Legacy or an Impreza?

Did they drop the car to the ground or are they a sensible height to clear speed bumps etc?

Have they made the ride nice and firm or rock hard and harsh??

I look forward to your response.

Thanks again.

as long as you purchase the "control" springs and not the "flat out" springs made by Whiteline, you should be okay.

controls = drop up to about 30mm IIRC....

they are quite popular here stateside.

ride is a bit more flat, smooth, not jarring.
i've sold several sets of these and the guys are very pleased with the results.

but, like i said, avoid the flat out (40mm) springs - they drop the Legacy too far, and you'll end up rubbing...

cheers

Me...... VERY iterested...

Is it just the case that all you need to do is change the springs, and it is lowered???

I have seen the rubber things that fit in the spring to 'stop it bottoming out'... (if that's right)

.... don't need those (I'm a novice at this...)

Edited to say......

I've got a 1992 saloon..... don't supose there would be much price difference???
Cheers

Legacy4x4Turbo, You dont need to change anything other than the springs but if your car is on its original struts I would also look into replacing those at the same time.

I have a set of my97 Impreza struts sat in the garage and will be adding the whiteline springs to them. This should give a nice uprated feel to the car without slamming it to the ground and have all the harshness that goes with too harder spring rates.

You can pick up low miler second hand struts off the for sale section. I got mine for £50 including the original Impreza springs but the springs are no use to me.

What car do you have then?? (only jokin.)

The spring refs I listed are for saloon and estate Legacy single turbos cars.

I'm saving me pennies and will be getting some ordered - oh yes.

Have a gud un.

Just to add to the above.

You cant just take the springs off the car and refit the new ones. The struts and springs need to be taken off the car as a unit and then either remove old spring with tensioner clamps and fit the replacements and back onto car. OR Replace second hand Impreza struts with new whiteline / replacement springs and fit to car once the old units are off.

You will need to use the original strut tops from the Legacy as the Impreza ones dont locate properly.

All good fun as Leggy is finding out now on your "p1 springs ...." topic.
