Unhappy

I posted the following a while back and have had NO responses at all !!

I'm surprised that nobody knows of somewhere reasonably local for me to get my alignment done rather than using a dealer. Yes I've heard of TSL & the likes, but that's no good for someone based in the south of england is it? The car is booked in for its service on 8th Mar and have asked for alignment too, but really don't want my dealer to do it (they charge £80.00!) and I don't feel I'd get the same kind of precision setup that TSL would do.

HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP !!!

<Previous post...>

I appologise in advance if I've posted this to the wrong community!

I need to get my suspension/wheel alignment checked out as I banged a kerb back when they were all hidden in the snow and ever since the handling around right bends has been terrible. I've got the shakes in the steering too, so balancing has clearly been affected. I'm running Toyos on standard 16" alloys and the car is a classic MY00 Impreza.

Can anyone recommend where I can get this done. I live in St Albans, but work in Bedford so anything around those areas would be ideal.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

OK,

Don't get your dealer to do it, go to Powerstation in Cheltenham. I live in North London and it only takes an hour and a half to get there on a Saturday morning (and the A40 West of Oxford is muchos fun too!!! ). I always go to PS for this kind of work, on both the Scoob's I have had.

They will do a job you will be happy with and for about the same price your dealer wants to charge you too.

Also, presumeably PE can do it (so Uxbridge). Though may cost more than the dealer

Last time I went to PE on a satdy for suspension geometry they only managed 1/2 a job, and said come back in the week to have it finished, which I couldn't do cos I live in Essex and wasn't prepared to just take off loads of days at the drop of a hat.

They still charged me full whack and said when you come in we won't charge you extra.

I couldn't get the time off so I waited for a few more satdy's and got the job done by experts at Powerstation! Perfect service and perfect job, inc. bumpsteer mod. Highly recommended....and those roads on the A40 !

Tyres Northampton will do it for you, too. Not too far from Bedford.

I'm from St.Albans and it's well worth the drive up to TSL in Nottingham.

I agree with elgordano - I actually live in SE London but have always made the trip up to TSL for the alignment --> not only are they experts but have a good attitude

oh and since you've made the long trip you always feel it's worthwhile throwing in a few more mods...
