I've just got my car back from PE after its 52500 mile service and the invoice states that :

NEEDS REAR BEAM BUSHES
NEEDS FRONT ARB(?) BUSHES

What kind of cost am I looking at to supply & fit these parts. Is the car unsafe if they need replacing?

Gary

ARB - Anti roll bar

Powerflex are one company that do the bushes you want. There are a few tuning companies on the banner boards that do them.

If you have to replace the ARB bushes (12.95ea x 4 = £51.80) you may as well replace the ARB drop links (£41 pair) which has the bushes you need in them already!

As for the rear beam bushes I guess you would be looking at about £10/12 each and there will probably be 4. I will have a look and may post again later if I have time.

Fitting - The rear ARB drop links are fairly easy to do, just jack the car up so the suspension is off load then give it a go. If a garage will be doing it then no more than 1/2 - 1 hour labour cost.

Cannot say for the rear beam bushes though, do not want to give false info. Watch this space.

Thumbs up

gary,

goto powerflex's website and look at the tehnical drawing for the impreza. front ARB bushes (2 off - item 3), my granny could fit. the rear beam (2 off - item 8) is more difficult as you have to drop the diff to get the old ones out. my granny could still fit them if i talked her through it.

Hope this pic works...

This is the front ARB link on my MY00. It is similar on the rear but has more of a 'C' shape to it.

nezz,

your picture shows the front drop link bushes. the front ARB bushes hold the ARB to the body, further forward on the car.
