Phill, yes get the alignment checked after. I personnal would bother fitting one, as I have seen them fitted and the owneres have still been able to move them.

Get yourself a stronger one.

So I will have to get the alignment done after ? Bugger, I thought as much Still maybe it's good to get it checked as I've just put new tyres on the car

I have heard they probably do no good what so ever, but thought it'll look great!!

Well it's fitted now and looks lovely, thanks for all the advise. Shame they don't actually do anything though

John,

What is wrong with it in your opinion? Not rigid enough or..?
It is after all one of the most expensive bars available (not that it necessarily means the best) and to me the design looks right for the job. Only thing that is a bit disappointing are the glued joints between carbon bars and alu triangles.

I am positive it has given the car a sharper turn-in and response.
I catch myself again and again winding off lock after steering into turns on my favourite roads with turns which I happen to know pretty well

The car feels more rigid at the front with less body roll IMHO I haven't driven it hard as I need to Torque everything correctly.

it will provide SOME improvement over not being there at all, but it isnt rigid enough to work as it should. You can twist it if you take it off. The main problem with it is the fact its made up of so many pieces, all those joints are weak compared to a single alloy bar.

It does look the dogs bollox though!

Cool

Yeah it does look lovely under the bonnet, but in fairness it did when it was in my kitchen for three days Glad I fitted it and the Strut Nuts have been Torqued up properly, turned right into a rather rough dual carriage way crossing tonight and noticed the right tyre was giving extra grip. Hard to describe really!! Car handled well before IMHO

Would I spend £???? on it, don't know how much it is ? After I tried it yes, I think

Cheers Phill C

Howdy John,

Agree with you John, re the number of joints not exactly being an advantage for rigidity, but I wouldn't think torsional strength is of any great importance to a strut brace?

And as a starting point - As long as the brace has to be curved to clear the TMIC, I would think the STi 'triangle' brace design itself is superior to simply a bent tube or oval profile.

Looks: Oh well, I have a straight polished alu Cusco shining to the world from the back of my 5 door, so maybe I should switch the STi one at the front as well to add some symmetry to the game...

Thumbs up

John is right (as usual), they will make *some* difference, but a solid metal bar of the correct shape will be of more help.

We've had a whole range made for us which are much stronger and A LOT cheaper.
