How to reduce understeer. Bumpsteer mod ?
#1
Folks, I want to reduce the amount of understeer I experience as I feel i'm loosing out round long bends as the front begins to wash out. I hear that the bumpsteer mod improves things but can't see how, on a long steady bend when the car is settled in, this can improve things. Can someone explain and give me any other insights into how to improve understeer under these conditions.
cheers

Can't explain the bumpsteer bit, but see below for some pointers on suspension set up. If its ledgible, it might help and might point you in the right direction

The above is good - but assumes perfect alignment as a pre-req.
Also, it overlooks the need for re-alignment with ride height changes etc (although I am sure the unattached verbage that likely was with the chart mentioned something about that).
Also, bumpsteer is built into the front geometry, and carefully tuning it out can really have a dramatic effect. If search is working, you'll find many, many positive posts under the topic.
Cheers.
