Where the hell did the first post go?
I have been looking at coilover options for my Legacy, and the AVO setup seemed like a good deal. The cheapest place I could find was www.MotorSportWorld.co.uk.
The correct recommended retail price £718+vat at the moment, so the followig prices offer at least a £100 saving, so get in while you still can.
I have contacted them, and Colin there has offered the following deal:
15% discount for 5 kits
18% discount for 10 kits
Colin emailed me today to say that the prices are as follows:
5 off = £610.52+VAT each kit
10 off = £588.97+VAT each kit
I will put together a list of those interested, including preffered payment method, and after some date, close the group buy. It will then be down to each person to ensure their payment is made, so we can get the discount.p
So if enough people are interested, you could buy yourself 4 height adjustable coilovers with adjustable damping (NOT seperate bump/rebound, sorry!) that take widely available 2.25in ID springs, all for about £705 all in (correct price including nominal delivery charge)
Please indicate your interest here and I will firm up the deal with Motorsportworld.
The Bilstien price, in conjunction with the above deal, is £899+vat.
Cheers
Paul

So these don't come with springs??? I thougth that the AVO kit did?
I could be interested, the only thing is i would have liked to pay by credit card. Is it not possible to arrange it so we pay Motorsportworld direct by car, just a thought you might get more buyers if this is an option.
Tony,

was it only the avo stuff that he would do a group buy on or would he consider doing leda coilovers or bilsteins too?
I do quite a few track days and was told that the avo stuff is not really up to them but okay for road use.

T-UK,
I've had this set-up on my wagon since October but with different spring rates from what come as standard. I run 350lb fr and 275r. I've only completed 250 track miles all of which were very wet miles around Brands Hatch and they seemed very good although I await a proper dry testing session.
At Brands I also ran Whiteline ARBs front and rear with 17" S02's and found this set-up perfectly acceptable in the wet, still with a progressive break when they do let go. Ok so it's nothing like the feel of an Eibach equipped Impreza but it's nowhere new as bad as some may have you believe.
On the road they are very good albeit a little harsh compared to a Leda equipped car, all in all very good value for money.
Thanks Craig

Can't remember you pointing out any price discrepancies unless the email arrived at the office after 6pm when I left. The 5 off price I quoted was based on 15% discount and the 10 off price on 18% discount. Looks like I've been remiss in updating that page on the site - perhaps it's based on last year's price. Will have a look tomorrow and correct. That's the trouble with putting prices on a website - it's very hard keeping them all up-to-date. I put them all on last November (when I got my Scoob) to give an overview of our excellent prices.
You should have my Bilstein quote by now.....
Cheers

Hi
Im interested in the groupbuy, could someone email me the prices for the Bilstien setup?
Regarding the AVO's, could someone who had them on their car please post as to how the ride quality was even on the softest setting? Are the coilovers going to be the new style ones that AVO do? Didnt they have a problem with seals going or something before the update?

I am interested.!.!
I was looking at a set of these at the Max Power show last week.
The ones I saw were the Avo GTZ Evo1 Kits. £843.95
So I would be interested which range they are.
Count Me In.

Okay, thanks for the reply Colin, I sent the email after I had tea tonight I think.
Anyway, I don't see everyone fleeing.
Currently the details are thus:
AVO kit is the EVO 1 coilover kit, including 4 off coilover bodies with adjustable damping and ride height, 4 off 2.25"ID springs to suit.
The AVO discounted prices work out at :
5 off = £610.52+VAT = £717.36 inc VAT each kit
10 off = £588.97+VAT = £692.04 inc VAT each kit
This is more expensive than I first said, but that's life, they are still cheaper than you are going to get elsewhere!
People Interested:
Definitely:
David Wallis___AVO
MouseMan_______AVO
Scootie5_______AVO
Possibly:
Mathew_________AVO (please confirm)
Myself_________AVO (finances allowing...)
T_UK___________AVO/BILLY
Ragos__________AVO/BILLY (possibly either kit rubbing issue etc)
Mr J___________AVO (if delivery to Sweden is an option)
Maxy_UK________AVO/BILLY (possibly in a Bilstien kit, wants to check ride etc)
c2scoops_______AVO
The price given for the Bilstien PSS9 kit is £899+vat, which is damn cheap. I am sure those wishing to upgrade can.
Payment can be made by credit card for those of use with no real money.

Hi Everyone
Paul has been under the misapprehension that my 5 off AVO price still had to have vat added, so just to clear things up, the £717.36 is including VAT. Same with the 10 off price of £692.04 being including VAT.
Just to forewarn everyone though, we are waiting for AVO to stock up on these kits just now. They are quoting 3 weeks.
Cheers

I have edited the first post to correct prices, above post has prices lifted straight from your email.
I think everything has settled down now.
If there is a 3 week lead time on the AVO kits, then I think we can leave this open a while longer, and I will be a definite yes.

Which one is better bearing in mind that I have Prodrive 18" wheels with S03 225-35-18 and with the current Prodrive suspension rubber catch the rear arches?
I try to rise the carto the standard height, so are these kits ok?

Ragos,
Both the AVO and Bilstein kits will stop the tyres rubbing on the shock absorbers. If you get rubbing on the inner arches, you need to look at running stiffer springs or a higher ride height, both the kits will allow you to do this.
Tone,
Sorry to hear you are dropping out, but if you could afford £670, what's another £50? If we get enough interest the price is £692, only £20 more than initial estimates.
