Cool

My eibachs are yellow and they look pretty good, but you can't get yellow ones in England.

To do the job right you would need to remove them, and fully prep them before painting. On the other hand buy some after market items which more often than not come in red, fit them.
Nice and red + better handleing (so they say). Job done!

Cool

You can paint almost owt with Hammerite with minimum preparation, You wouldn't necessarily have to take them off, just have a fairly bendy wrist (note: I said "bendy" not "limp"), and cover the brakes/ discs etc with an old rag against spills.

Think I might do mine, come to think of it.......now, what colour would look good on a red car???????????????

I hammerited the springs on my old Peugeot. Didn't look bad, and I didn't have to take then off.
