Default BC Racing vs Tein

I need to change the suspension shocks / springs on my wife's Blob (2004 WRX STi)

It's currently got BC racing coilovers, which are seized up - its riding too low for our local roads
Tried all the tricks I knew for loosening threads - failed; shipped the car off to my local garage (who I've used for the past 10 years), and they couldn't shift them.

So, it appears the only solution is to replace the whole units (assuming that the bottom bolts come free!)

Tein appear to be the low cost (ish...) solution
How do they compare to BC Racing ?

The suspension as it stands now is not exactly compliant; the ideal end game would be no scraping over speed bumps, and a good compliant ride
( its stiffer than my 991 GT3 !)

all suggestions welcome!

Why don't you put struts back on it?
If 100pcd? Some late blob's were 114.3pcd

KYB inverted (as original sti/internal bump stops) Ultra SR saloon 100pcd
321002
321003
321004
321005
ebay £400

KYB non-inverted (external bump stops) Ultra SR saloon 100pcd
324033
324032
324031
324030
ebay £430

You could fit KYB non-inverted excel-g wrx struts saloon, 100pcd, but you'd need the softer wrx spring rates
334461
334460
334359
334358
ebay £200

Pedders do a complete 100pcd sti kit, but it's wrx spring rates and low ride heights - not a successful combination.

Not sure but you used to be able to get them rebuild. I think a company called Apex used to handle the spares way back when.
