Default £1000 budget

hello all, I have a bit of a problem (sort of)! I have just ordered a set of MeisterR GT1s for my 2003 JDM Blob. Build time is about 4-6 weeks. I’m eyeing up other components. I have 1k budget give or take, I don’t want to go straight down the sway bar, drop links, solid mounts, etc etc just yet. I’m after advice from anyone truly in the know! Before I do the finishing parts (sway bars etc etc) is there better parts to purchase prior to do the job right from the beginning? I’m thinking along the lines of rose jointed ball joints, thinking the specials always had trick suspension components which made them some of the best handling Scoobs about. Is there anyone out there who knows the best route to go down with my budget please? Car is a toy whether it be road or track. Any great guidance gratefully received, many thanks

All the bushes and engine and transmission mounts ; these will be knackered on a 15 year old car. Handling, gear change and throttle input will be transformed without shelling out on sway bars and sti extras.

Agree, new engine mounts can rejuvenate many older cars. Just getting it like it was new is a revelation.

sorry for the late reply, I am currently away with work. Ok will start there then look at the other supporting items. It’s an endless list as once you start it gets silly! Think I will be speaking with ASP again and ordering x items then handing a budget over to them for the rest. Have faith in them as they rarely give bad advice! Thanks to all who commented 👍🏼.

Is your blob a wrx or sti? If it's a wrx, I would highly recommend stiff steering column coupler from sti (https://i.imgur.com/mHeSZvV.jpg). Additionally I would put solid (poliuretahne) steering rack bushes. These 2 cheap mods greatly increased car feeling.
Additionally I would change all suspension bushes to new ones, preferably for N-group versions. While changing LCA rear bushes you could put some bushes that increase caster (improves feeling from steering wheel and makes car turn better) - ALK is one option.
