Default KYB struts for a Hawkeye WRX

So my 06 WRX with 65k miles has the knocking rear strut problem... I took it to the Subaru dealership who re-greased all struts which temporarily fixed the issue, but 1500 miles later the knocks and thuds are back and as loud as ever. I want to upgrade the front and rear struts, coilovers are out of the question considering the state of the roads where I live so I'm looking at replacing them with some KYB shock absorbers.

Apart from being on prodrive blue springs, my cars suspension system is stock. I wanted to use Excel Gs all round as I've read they are a direct fit for 04-07 WRXs but apart from springs I've never really delved too deep with suspension upgrades - is there anything else I will need with the replacement struts, i.e. mounts, new bump stops etc...?

True, but I believe the Excel Gs are non-inverted so that eliminates the famous knocking issue. Besides they are much cheaper and easier to find than OEM replacements. Am I right in thinking I'll also need new strut mounts, dust boots and bump stops for each corner?

the standard KYB shock are cheap tat. AGX are a decent upgrade and be cheaper than OEM shocks from subaru.

Other option is chuck a set of pedders on it.

Fronts - dome side up - 2 x FEBI 27848 Rubber Buffer, suspension Front Axle left or right | eBay

Rear KYB Protection Kit PK - Left or Right - Rear - PN 910046 | eBay

The top mounts will swap to the excel-g's, assuming they're in good condition?

I had considered AGXs but I'm unsure on fitment for the hawkeye wrx? As far as I can tell the strut mounts are original so have 65k miles on them, thought I may as well replace them while the struts are off
