Just after some help with this. If I could get the Superpro significantly cheaper, is there any reason to get the Whiteline instead? This is for a track/hillclimb car.

The interesting part of the Superpro kit is that it includes a polybush for the front bush in the wishbone. The part that worries me however, how do you make sure the bush is correctly orientated in the holder? I can see it doing more harm than good if it's not right.

Any info anyone?

 

If its the pro r pack on ebay youre referring to then the front wishbone bush has nothing to do with the anti lift rear bush. Its just part of an uprated bushes pack inc anti lift

The main difference is that youll need a press to fit the rear bushes into existing housing whereas whiteline comes as one piece item

As for aligning it wrong youd need to be pretty thick to align it incorrectly when pressing it in

Ive already told a few mates to buy them ones on ebay as its a good saving on usual rrp for both those bushes

 

Yeah well I've got a press so no worries there. And yeah I know the front bush doesn't do anything as far as anti lift goes, just meant that it's a nice extra. The alignment does worry me though just because a millimetre out could have a big effect. With anything you press in, you've pretty much had it if you get it wrong IMO.

 

Why do you need to soften your, effective, front spring rate?

when you re-bush you will need to get it aligned anyway,
The cost saving over the WL ALK wont be noticed handling wise to 99.9% of the owners,
Unless you are tracking it the Poly will change the whole handling of the car anyway.

 

I am tracking it and I am planning to have the alignment done again as I'll be swapping out a bent wishbone anyway

I can get the Super Pro kit for a third of the price of the Whiteline which is what's made me consider it to be honest. I'm running Superpro steering rack bushes and have their ARB bushes ready to fit, coincidentally.

 

Are they both the same Sha hardness ?

 

That anti lift bit of it is negligible imo the greatest benefit is the stiffer rear bush which is what 90% of people feel and think its the anti lift aspect making the difference when it isnt

Just measure precisely...or follow the fitting instructions to the letter

 

Fitting an alk softens the front suspension - increasing lift and dive under acceleration and braking. I don't know how, intentionally, destabilizing the chassis would help on a track car.
If the alk is to alleviate corner exit understeer? Why introduce an increase in pitching to do it?
An alk might help a drag car.

I'd fit group N bushes in the lower control arm.
This would also give a smooth movement of the arm. As opposed the the potential for an incremental movement of the arm, should the poly bushes not be fastidiously lubricated.

 

I've got Superpro ALK fitted to my GF8 along with SuperPro front 22mm and rear 24mm ARBs, makes for a very nice drive . . .positive steering feel too . . .just my opinion

 

Meant to ask; what are all the spacers for in the Whiteline kit that you don't get with Super Pro?

superpro doesnt need spacers as you are using the OE housings for the bush
