Hi folks, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on the real difference between the whiteline adjustable control arms and the hardrace adjustable pillowball kit?
I'm stuck between the two but unsure which is best to go for. These are for my type r track car.

The pictures of the hardrace don't show the pillowball joints, they show the hardened rubber which I have. I was told that the pillowball ones are more for race/track applications as they require more maintenance unless you make some sort of boot cover for them. Conceptua tuning local to me supplied them, around £300 for the 4 adjustable control arms and 2 trailing arms and also rear droplinks and mounts!
Hi Jody, thanks for the pics there. I have decided on the hardrace pillowball kit as my car is a track car and hardly used on the road. You mention that they need more maintenance, do you mean they need lubricated from time to time? A sock to keep the dust/dirt out makes sense but maybe not necessary if the car is not used much

I think because they're pillowball they can get little grains of dust and debris as they rotate and get inside the joint. I'd imagine a good squirt of lithium/white grease through a straw into the joint would flush it and grease it at the same time tho. May be good practice to do it after each outing on a track the spray is cheap in comparison!
I have had both on the RA and had the pillowball type and they did start to stiffen in terms of the movement after a while and I didn't use the car on the road. I now have the Whiteline ones on the car and am happy with how they perform.

Ok so if I were to go for the extra expense of the pillowball, I also have to ensure that I exercise them enough to stop them stiffening up over time. Thats fine when the car gets plenty use but for long periods in the last few years, my car has hardly moved
This makes me reconsider going pillowball. Decisions decisions!

That looks amazing and is what I'm going to do
Think I will go for the rubber rather then the pillow ball mounts
The arb in blue
Is that the standard subaru one powdercoated blue ?
And if so what shade as it looks a great match in colour for the hardrace as I've never noticed one on the hardrace website ?
Or is it whiteline one powdercoated as I'm not to keen on the standard metal colour of the whiteline ?
