Default £1200 coil-over budget

Looking to get the blob better on track, I can just about get 1200 to spend on coilovers.

What my requirements are a set that can work well on the road so the wife dont bitch at me but then be able to adjust the damper settings so it works good on track.

Useful recommendations and comments only please

The MeisterR GT1 is currently at £1295 (RRP £1650) as an initial offer.
For a fast road / track use car, you will be hard push to find anything better.

As the GT1 are custom build, it normally have a lead time of about 3 - 4 weeks.
Bu this is not an off the shelf job, with precision made CNC internal engineered and manufactured in house at our workshop in Essex.

There really isn't a "best" because it is very subjective.
But I can say pretty safely that the MeisterR will be more comfortable than the BC.

Edwin bought a hawk eye not long ago and it came with BC.
So I said change it over to MeisterR ZetaCRD+ and give an honest review, because nothing tells a story better than if you have personally experienced it.

He made a short little review here:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...new-owner.html

I would say finding is in line with what we expect.
So if you want a "comfortable" performance upgrade, the ZetaCRD+ will do the job just fine.

And if the budget allows, than the GT1 is just one step above and can be customised to your particular need if it is unique (such as if it is a track car).

Stretch that budget......

Save up another £250 and get yourself a set of KW Variant 3's (around £1,450 from Balance Motorsport).

I'm running these on my WRX Bugeye wagon.
You can set them up however you want within reason and then soften them off a few clicks when you need to keep your missus happy.

It is difficult, both are design to be compliant on uneven road surfaces.
The GT1 is going to be the better one on the stiffer end and provide better performance without a doubt.

On the softer setting, both will be neck and neck.
i would give the edge to the GT1 not for being more comfortable, but for giving better response while providing the same comfort.

After all, if the car is comfortable, it is comfortable...
There really isn't a "more" comfortable setting.

And the max c front plates are £500 if you can find a set, so we'll over 2k if you want top quality mounts.
Could use oe mounts but why would you do that on quality coilovers.

I'm certainly interested in the GT1s,

Or, why use camber plates on a road car?

I use them as its a Road/Track car if there is such a thing...

I was going to buy a set of the GT1's but managed to source some Ohlins DFV's that were too cheap to pass up even though I've said numerous times I'll never buy 2nd hand coilovers again after having AST's and EXE-TC's over the years, I'm currently stripping them and internally they are excellent and working as they should but have seen better days ascetically, could do with some new damper boots if anyone knows where i get them from?

There are plenty of road / track car, it literally is what the GT1 was designed for.
Actually, the Ohlins DFV are also design for the similar purposes, but we achieve our dynamics goals in different different ways.

The main importance is getting a setup that is comfortable on the road, able to accept bumps and pot holes, without sloppy steering response on softer setting.
The the suspension need to be sharp and responsive on the harder damper setting.

Something that isn't too difficult to achieve if you know what you are doing.
But do require some precision and clever engineering.
