Default Blobeye Geometry settings??

Hi Guys,

Iv just done a big overhaul on my wrx blobeyes suspension-

bc coilovers

front and rear Whiteline arb's

whiteline anti lift kit

powerflex arm bushes

new inner and outter trackrods

new balljoints

godspeed discs and pads (brembo calipers)

So its in Dire need of a good setup/alignment. I know where i will be taking it to be done (A line in Dudley) but my question is, Has anyone got any info/spec that i can get them to set it upto? Iv found the Prodrive geo spec for a bugeye (dont know if that will be the same on the blob, carnt imagen it would be different or far off)

got a trackday at Snetterton booked for the 19th of sept so want to get it setup so i can get abit used to it before then.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Default Thanks for all the input guys 😂

I spoke to the guys where i took the car and they set it up for "fast road" use. I feel i could do with a more aggressive setup as it still feels lacking slightly. Very well rounded on the road though and would be perfect for a sole road car.

I've been looking for similar, I've prob found the same threads as you.
Few things on bug setup, couldn't find anything towards the blob.

Just a bunch of numbers to me
Any help would be appreciated.

Yea thats what iv found, I BELIEVE That all or most newage setups as pretty much interchangeable, so bug, blob, hawk. Might be wrong im unsure.
Where are you thinking of taking yours?
I took mine to Aline in dudley. The service was awesome would highly recommend them

These are the only other 2 setups that i could find/given that seem to fit my bill but dont know enough about geometry yet to be certain.
The second setup is rarther aggressive apparently 😂

The obvious answer is to increase front camber and caster, which you'll need adjustable top mounts and/or camber bolts to do. An anti-lift kit will give you more caster as well. Try reducing the front toe to zero if you want a more pointy front end. If you look at the second printout this is basically what this setup comprises, with the addition of toe out at the rear which will make the rear more mobile - I personally wouldn't opt for this but rather would consider a larger rear ARB instead. Bear in mind that the second setup will be fairly rubbish on a bumpy road - tramlining all over the place and very skittish.

If you have a look at the first post it shows i already have a ALK, anti roll bars, camber bolts, coilovers etc.
The current setup i have tramlines quite badly. What is the cause of this? Toe?

Your tramlining will be mostly down to your front camber. Increasing camber will obviously worsen the tramlining, but that's the price of a more aggressive track setup.

Ah ok, i dont mind so much then to be honest.
Still finding it understeers if pushed in the wet, think this may be down to tyre pressures though 33F 31R

What size bars are you running - a 20mm or 22mm front and 24mm rear bar usually keeps understeer under control, while 27mm is also available. If you are running low ride height then Whiteline or Superpro front ball joints are worth looking into. Consider raising rear ride height compared with front.

It's a dark art this suspension tuning lark. Lots of variables at play...

Its 22mm front and 24mm rear 40mm lower than standard on BC coilovers. Tyres are Bridgestone RE070.
Yeah it certainly seems very dark arts 😂 Interesting stuff though.

I havent tested it properly so shouldnt really pass such a judgement, but its still leaning towards understeer which I loathe 😂( My rear arb is on the mid setting and still on oem drop links, so this mat effect?) I need to take it out a good blast this weekend and give it a good test.
What tyre pressure are you guys running?

There's a place near me called "track v road" in Clitheroe. They specialise in TVR'S.
I'm sure I've seen on here that someone has taken their scoob to them in the past.

Although if understeer is the issue then more rear camber and toe won't help with that...

As bonesetter says I'd look into your ride height - a 40mm drop won't be doing your handling any favours unless you've modded other items to suit e.g. roll-centre ball joints.

Why so much rear camber?
