Default What is it called? Hub carrier / Knuckle / both

Hi

I am having a complete nightmare trying to do my ball joint (drivers side).

Unfortunately I found out how to replace it and thought that it looked simple so started before I discovered all of the horror stories regarding the pinch bolt that holds the ball joint in.

I now have 1 snapped bolt, a few snapped drill bits and no patience at all. I think I have completely destroyed the hole in which the pinch bolt is located and due to the snapped bits I can't even drill it through. I have got about half way but cannot get any further.

I think my only alternative is to take the part off and source a replacement but this is where I am having difficulties. Could anybody confirm the correct name for the part that the ball joint is connected to.

Thanks
