Default 2006 WRX Hawkeye Lowering Springs/Options.

Hello,
I need some help regarding lowering my car.
At the moment, the car has 19" alloys but I've bought some new 18's (8.875j) and will be putting these on in the next couple of days with 225/40 tyres
If I put the 18's on, will the height of the car drop slightly?
Also looking at lowering springs just to give it a lower stance really. My local roads are full of potholes and very bumpy with speed bumps everywhere so o gotta think of ride comfort too.
Looking to drop around 25-30mm max.
I not iced some lowering springs lower 30mm front and 25mm rear. Is this normal? Why does the front lower more than the rear?
Are the Apex lowering springs a good buy at just over £100 or should I pay a little more for Tein S-tech springs?
