Default Worn top mounts? Knocking

Hi,

After lowering my on the standard struts I have developed a knock on both sides at the front so today I decided to do some investigation.

I firstly removed the droplinks and they seem fine.

Next with the car on axle stands i jacked up the leg and there seems to be movement in the top mount is this normal. As in when I jack the leg up the top of the strut moves the top mount.
I also took a picture does it look badly worn to you? I can see some small cracks but would these cause a knock?

Thanks

Had a similar problem and after swapping the top mounts it ended up being the front bushes for the ARB , they looked fine but when removed were odd shaped and when replaced the knocking stopped strait away ,, I'm not saying it isn't your top mount as it doesn't look great either but mine sounded like top mount but was ARB bushes
