Default Smaller wheels - geometry

Hi all,

Quick question I had my suspension set up by pca and I'm now thinking of going from 18" wheels to 17" wheels would this alter my set up?

Also would 17" wheels look small on a newage?

Thanks

Surely the smaller wheel is offset by the larger profile tyre on the 17"? So in theory the rolling radius should be the same or very similar? Weight of wheels may be an issue though...

Depends on your suspension setup? I'm running PCA springs and would be more than happy with the looks of 17's, especially for winter or track wheels. It's a very personal preference but I'm more about handling setup than lows!

Might be worth trying to get hold of PCA for a quick chat, I think Peters number is on the website?

Yeah im running Eibach springs, have 18" at the moment and have been offered a swap for some nice speedline wheels, just worried 17"s will look a bit small.

17" doesn't look small especially when you're lowered so there's no wheel arch gap

when i went from my 18" summer wheels to 17" winter wheels I had the alignment checked and was told there was no difference in changing the wheels assuming the rolling radius stays the same.

what i did notice was the grip levels have dropped a good bit due to my tyre choice (check out the uniroyal rainsport thread recently). Seems the smaller wheel with the taller sidewall will flex a little more than the 18's with the smaller profile.

Yeah i have spoken to Peter at PCA who confirmed the geometry will stay the same, i just really unsure if i will like the smaller wheels.

keep changing my mind, think i might stick with the 18"s and perhaps go with a colour change.
