BC coilover noise - cant locate it
Got a set of BC BR type coil overs on my hawk and cant figure where the rear end knocking noise is coming from.
Took the shock off and put it in the vice and moved the leg around, no loose movements from the top mount or in the leg
Stripped it down and inspected the rubber top mounts and bushes all seem ok
Put the leg in the vice to check for movement, seems fine
The topmount rubbers and steel bush all seem fine, the small white spacer bushing in the top mount was tight in the top but the steel bush which goes through it seemed a little loose, is this normal ??
Put it all back together and greased up all the bushes and washers, even greased the spring seats, tightened the top nut, put on the correct pre-load and checked bottom (height adjust) collar was tight.
Checked all bushes on rear suspension, ARB, control arm etc no movement or noise when moving them around without the shock connected.
The noise is a light rattling clacking sound over rough surface most noticeable at low speeds
Cant think of anything else to check.

it is the Top mount, common fault, the supplier should have offered the original buyer of the coilovers a replacement rear top mount(with no camber adjustment though) to stop the noise you have,
I had the exact issue when they were originally supplied and they denied any issue, telling customers it was their car, after about 8 or 10 months they admitted a problem and offered the rear top mounts and new springs to sort it.

Had already read the link you posted, but thanks anyway.
Re the top mount, cant see anything wrong with that part its just a plate with rebates in the top and bottom for top and bottom rubber bush so not sure what you mean, is there and issue where the spring meets the mount ?
