fitted coilovers... front top mount the correct way??
#3
I have had a geo setup with camber etc done, and when looking at the top mounts, one side is in a different place compared to the other, so the driver side camber top mount is on the 0 (centre) mark, and the passenger side is on + 1 or 2 marks away from 0
is this normal?, or should both sides be set at the same position on the top mount?
thanks
ian
p.s the drivers side coilover height is about 1cm (from what i can remember) longer/higher compared to the passenger side, but the car site with an even gap between the wheel centre and arch.
when both the front coilovers were the same length, the drivers side sat lower compared to the passenger side, so thats why I increased the height of the drivers shock
would this be a reason to the different amounts of camber on the top mounts?
thanks

That doesn't seem to be correct, even if the geometry is ok.
You have like that because where the strut bolts to the hub has an adjustment bolt, and probably that's why the geometry is correct.
You probably have one side with the hub bolt on a more neutral position (drivers), and on the other it's giving the camber.
Not that it matters, your drivers side top hat is bolted the other way round. As you can see the marker on the top of the strut is not facing the scale. But again, this is just a minor detail.
